teeth whitening

We all see those toothpaste commercials where a single cycle of brushing is all it takes for sparkling white teeth. But is it that easy?

The wearing out of the enamel is a result of certain undesirable lifestyle, dietary, and oral habits. These include inadequate brushing and flossing, excessive consumption of dark-colored beverages, even smoking. Other lifestyle habits that can damage the teeth enamel include biting your nails, grinding your teeth, and consuming too many sugary drinks. Fortunately, there are certain things that can come in handy to whiten your teeth.

Use a straw. This helps in decreasing the contact between the enamel and the solution and helps you prevent stains of any kind.

Brush and floss. You need to brush and floss to improve your teeth. Doing this twice a day will surely take away discoloration, and give you a shiny, clean set of teeth.

Whitening kits or strips. A tooth whitening product usually consists of carbamide peroxide that helps in fighting those yellow stains.

Sugarless gum. Chewing sugar-free gum reduces the content of bacteria and ultimately fights harmful acids.

Dairy products. You should also start eating dairy products on a regular basis. Hard cheese like cheddar, is also known to help get rid of all food particles and make your teeth white and bright.

Apples. Munching on crunchy apples every day will make your teeth white and get rid of that yellow shade that is caused by germs accumulated on your teeth.

Dark chocolate. You might be a little surprised, but dark chocolate contains substances that harden the surface of your teeth and make them whiter.
