Meet The Team
Keisha is the one responsible for all of Dr. Kemmet’s grey hairs, and she has named them all too! She seizes every opportunity possible to celebrate successes with patients and co-workers and mostly is responsible for our morning huddle ending with a joke of the day! Keisha loves her job and loves working alongside her husband Dr. Kemmet, her fantastic teammates, and patients. She is clinically trained as a dental assistant, but has been working the administrative part of the office since she moved to Minot 5 years ago! Since this change, Keisha has spent numerous hours, 494 (for now) to be exact, learning about Office Management and has a lifetime membership for the American Association of Dental Office Management(AADOM), as well as her Fellowship Certification (FAADOM). Keisha also works with world renowned speakers and consultants to keep our office always growing and thriving. She truly believes that one of the keys to happiness is serving others, and she puts her heart and soul in all that she does. When not at the office, Keisha is a proud mother and enjoys building blanket forts, and singing “Let it Go”, “Mickey Mouse March”, and “Old Macdonald” with her daughter. She is also inspired by music and will share her talents on the upright double bass in the Minot Symphony Orchestra, and in church services. Finally it has to be mentioned….. yes dear patients Keisha truly is the one responsible for Dr. Kemmet’s infamous “Corn Dog Song”!
Lanae was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND. Her husband, Lance, is a conductor for Burlington Northern. She has two children, Bailey, who is keeping busy with her studies at MSU and Hunter, who stays busy in sports, and all that that implies. Lanae earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, and is also a member of The American Association of Dental Office Management (AADOM). However, when her father was Diagnosed with terminal cancer, God led her to the path of dentistry. Although it was 20 years ago, it still seems like yesterday. Lanae is incredibly organized and helps keep Dr. Kemmet structured in his many responsibilities outside of working with patients. She is fascinated with the human body and how what occurs in our own mouths is directly related to the rest of our body. She is also solely responsible for the amazing system in which we process and organize insurance claims, she has an unnatural curiosity regarding dental insurance and enjoys helping patients figure out their grey areas! Don’t let her kind face fool you, when it comes to insurance she is an advocate for her patients and will fight tooth and nail to get any benefits she can for you!
If you hear someone singing along with the radio at Kemmet Dental Design, it’s probably Shelly. A past member of the singing group “Treblemakers”, she has performed at many holiday parties, conventions and the Minot Arts in the Park. Her husband, David, enjoys teaching science at Minot High School. Daughter, Erika, followed into dentistry as a dental hygienist in Fargo, ND and son, Rob, is back in Minot after 10 years in Texas. Four grandchildren complete the family. Her second family is her awesome coworkers and the many patients she has met since starting in dentistry many years ago. Shelley brings a high level of expertise and compassion to our office, she is always the first person to give a hug, or pay a compliment, and the person we ask hot to fix something when it breaks! She continuously shows her dedication to her patients and co-workers, though her commitment to learning all of the new technologies and equipment! If you want to get her and Dr. Kemmet in some deep conversation just ask about Rhode Island! Music has been a big part of Shelley’s life since growing up on a dairy farm near Minot, and singing while completing chores. She also enjoys baking, which is why she and the Kemmet Dental team needs to visit the gym on a regular basis. As a lifelong Vikings fan, she understands disappointment, but there is always next year!
Born and raised in Minot, ND, McKenzie is the youngest of our dental team. She has been a Dental Assistant for 2 years, earning her associates degree in applied science at Minnesota state community and technical college in Moorhead in 2016. As a DANB and ADAA member, McKenzie enjoys having the opportunity to continue to learn all the time. Her favorite part about dentistry is being able to connect with patients and seeing them have the confidence to smile again! You can find McKenzie doing the air guitar or dancing when her favorite songs come on, although not during dental procedures. McKenzie is kind and always willing to lend a helping hand to her teammates and friend! Tuesday’s are her (and the rest of the team’s) favorite work days, because her sweet grandpa, aka the “donut bandit”, drops off donuts for everyone! When she’s not working, McKenzie enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. And we can’t forget about her two yellow labs, Sophie and Bella!
Kelsey is our “Chameleon” at Kemmet Dental Design, meaning she can almost do it all! She is a Registered Dental Hygienist, but she works most days chairside with Dr. Kemmet helping him with his procedures, because she LOVES dentistry that much! Kelsey graduated from LSC in Duluth, MN in 2013 with an AAS in Dental Hygiene. She is certified in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation. She is currently attending College at Mankato State University for her BS in Dental Hygiene and the University of Minnesota school of Dentistry to be an Advanced Practice Dental Hygienist. Kelsey has been a part of our practice for almost 5 years, and we were the first dental office she worked in! Kelsey is very intelligent, and progressive. She is always looking to further her education and learn more about the dental field! Kelsey is like Dr. Kemmet in the fact that they are both Continuing Education junkies and take every opportunity to learn! Kelsey is the mother of beautiful baby girl with her fiancé Jeremy. She is a health and fitness advocate who loves hunting, fishing, and camping. Kelsey has a fun and lively personality that can make almost anyone smile! She loves her job and looks forward to being a part of the KDD family for many years to come!
Melinda is a Minot native who moved back to the area from Arkansas in 2016. In her spare time she loves traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. Melinda’s pride and joy are her 2 kids who keep her busy with their sports and school activities. Melinda has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 15 years. She graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas, and is a member of the North Dakota Hygiene Association. Melinda truly loves her work in dentistry, she has a big heart for every patient that she treats , and has a special ability to really connect with and reach her patients. Melinda loves to lift up others through her “inspirational quote of the day” that she shares everyday on social media. Melinda is committed to her co-workers and her patients and goes above and beyond to help others have an amazing time here at the office! Although she is very loving, she does take her work responsibilities seriously, and she feels especially accomplished when she can make people with previous negative memories of dentistry comfortable and happy to be receiving care.
Sarah is originally from eastern North Carolina, but for the time being, calls Minot home. She graduated from Coastal Carolina Community College in her home town with an AAS in Dental Hygiene in 2012. Sarah has obtained her certificate in local anesthesia from the University of Minnesota. She moved here a year ago with her husband who is a helicopter pilot for the United States Air Force. She loves all things outdoors, fitness and travel, and already has a substantial list of places she has been, due to coming from a military family. Sarah has been on the front cover of bridal magazines for her gorgeous wedding! At work she is very organized and when she sets a goal she achieves it! She is incredibly knowledgeable in her field and will gladly help explain how your mouth and body are very much linked to each other. Prior to moving to Minot, she practiced in Alabama, Mississippi, and New Mexico. Sarah can’t wait to meet you, and help you find your perfect smile.
