Meet The Doctor

Lindell Kemmet, DDS

It’s not often that you can have a crown replaced or a back molar polished to the sounds of a melodious baritone voice. Vocal chords these fine could only belong to Dr. Lindell Kemmet, a North Dakota native and perfector of smiles for more than eight years.

After graduating from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, Dr. Kemmet traveled next door to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of Minnesota. With shiny new diploma in hand, this expert flosser spent the next four years with the Indian Health Service before moving to private practice, where he has aligned unruly incisors ever since.

These days, when he’s not restoring bicuspids or reaching items on the top shelf of the supply closet for Lanae, Dr. Kemmet can be found researching the newest cutting edge dental technologies with Spear Education. Apparently he never got tired of homework.

Dr. Kemmet’s passion (some may say obsession) for new technology recently brought the CEREC system to Minot, allowing patients to have a crown replaced or other restoration performed in just one office visit. Thankfully, we talked him out of that Google Glass purchase, though.

In addition to the No Cavity Club, Dr. Kemmet is also a card-carrying member of these professional organizations:

  • American Dental Association
  • North Dakota Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • International Dental Implant Association

A noted lip-balm enthusiast, Dr. Kemmet passes his spare moments with his new bride, Keisha, quietly developing Chapstick’s next big competitor and wielding power tools in their home restoration quest, though not always at the same time.

Dr. Laurence

You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, you’ll hear Dr. Laurence say “y’all” in just about every other sentence. Transplanted to the great state of North Dakota, as her husband is an officer in the United States Air Force, she is beginning to master driving in zero visibility blizzards and making epic snowmen.

Dr. Laurence graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and a double minor in Psychology and Neuroscience. She then took a 2 year break from school, and worked as the Special Care Coordinator for a dentist in San Antonio that had a unique practice dedicated to providing dental care to individuals with special needs. Reaffirming that dentistry was what she wanted to spend her life doing, she spent the next 4 years at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree and graduating in the top 10 of her class.

It’s a little known fact that Dr. Laurence has a hard time saying no or realizing that her plate is full. During her time in dental school she held leadership roles in many different organizations, most notably of which was serving as class president and dealing with all of the shenanigans of her classmates. She also held a leadership position in their pediatric dental club, as well as was a founding officer of Houston’s local chapter of American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry, dedicated to the inter-disciplinary treatment of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Dr. Laurence has a big heart for children and individuals with special needs, and loves to merge those passions with her passion for dentistry.

Dr. Laurence is a member of these professional organizations:

  • Omicron Kappa Upsilon (National Dental Honor Society)
  • American Dental Association
  • North Dakota Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry

When she’s not busy saving teeth, Dr. Laurence spends her free time with her husband (Stephen), 1 year old son (Barrett), and two furry children (Bella and Sammy). She’s known to be able to eat her weight in Oreos and milk, and will gladly take on anyone in an Oreo eating contest. Her favorite season is Fall, as she is a big college football fan and spends the weekends cheering on her Aggies while eating boiled peanuts.
